Fans jubilate as New Striker spotted in chiefs training pitch ahead of pirates clash

Soweto-based giants Kaizer Chiefs football club licked their wounds clean after suffering a shock defeat to Lamontville Golden Arrows on Sunday in the DStv Premiership.

The Soweto-based giants will be facing Orlando Pirates next in the DStv Premiership and therefore the loss against Arrows is something of the past.

Kaizer Chiefs football club is in preparation for the second Soweto derby of the 2022-23 campaign against Pirates which will take place on Saturday, 25 February at FNB Stadium in front of Amakhosi's home fans.

Khosi already won the first Soweto derby for the season 1-0 in October 2022 courtesy of Yusuf Maart's wonder strike from his own half.

Since Amakhosi lost their last DStv Premiership encounter against Golden Arrows, they will be pushing for a league double over their Soweto arch-rivals.

Orlando Pirates football club will be looking to make it three wins in a row when they face Chiefs since they won their last two matches in all competitions.

But to be mentally and physically fit to face Orlando Pirates in the league for the second time this season, Kaizer Chiefs returned to their intense training sessions on Wednesday morning ahead of the derby.

Orlando Pirates is sitting on 31 points and Kaizer Chiefs on 28 points, should Chiefs win the match they'll be level on points with the Buccaneers.
