Kaizer Chiefs were able to collect maximum points against AmaZulu FC at FNB Stadium after a tough start to the current campaign. In their previous match, Chiefs lost by a solitary goal against TS Galaxy, hence it was needed for them to get back to winning ways again. Thanks to Pule Mmodi’s brace and a well taken header by Edson Castillo which made sure Chiefs walk away with 3-0 victory against Usuthu. At least the Soweto giants are slowly finding their ideal starting eleven and a few tactics that could work for them during the current season.
Now, the fan-favourite Castillo has opened his goal tally for the first time at Naturena. As he netted a crucial goal just when AmaZulu were hoping they'll get their equalizer. In the build up of his goal, he made all the right moves and even applied pressure to the Durban-based outfits in order for them to make mistakes. Although he was marked when the corner was taken, but he made sure that the players around him don't keep with his pace nor skills. This happened to be his first goal at Amakhosi and it came at a right time. Hence, his team mates were extremely impressed for his continuous exceptional performances.
Castillo has been a force to be reckon with ever since he was brought to Naturena. This is regarded as Chiefs best signing thus far as he's having a great time in the midfield and has been able to settle down within the club. “I said a few weeks ago that Castillo would be pivotal to their success and he is already proving to be a big influence on this team,” wrote the sportscaster Thomas Mlambo on Twitter.
