Coach Jose Riveiro of the Orlando Pirates has shared one thing that has astonished him thus far this club season.
The Soweto giants have had a decent start to the new season. They have won three, drawn one, and lost one of their five games in all competitions.
This season, a number of players have displayed strong play. They have demonstrated potential to assist the team in having yet another successful season. The Happy People won the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup last year.
What about the Pirates has shocked Jose Riveiro
These athletes include Tapelo Xoki, Zakhele Lepasa, Patrick Maswanganyi, Relebohile Mofokeng, and Thabang Monare.
JOSE RIVEIRO IS SHOCKED BY THE ORLANDO PIRATES' SCORING FORMULAS
The Spaniard admitted that the goal-scoring performance of his team has shocked him. The Bucs have been merciless goal scorers, scoring 11 goals across all competitions.
To be honest, I'm amazed that we are scoring goals. If I'm not incorrect, we managed to score in 16 straight games until we played Stellenbosch a few weeks ago, following the match we lost to Kaizer Chiefs by a score of one to zero.

When we failed to score against Stellenbosch, the initial concern was whether we were having trouble in front of the net. When we begin to develop that kind of narrative around our game, which is not a story, I believe we need to be a little bit more specific.
Our proportion of goals conceded within the same time period, zero point fifty-eight or zero point six goals, is the lowest in the nation. If we start to tell stories along those lines, it would appear like our strikers aren't scoring, which is untrue and puts more pressure on us and our players—something that they really don't deserve.
